Ok, this is not written in stone. But it's like 80% certain, so I guess its written in seriously sturdy paper using a nice pen. I should be arriving in Texas sometime toward the end of October. The precise time is unknown, but the goal is to be there before my birthday. The way its going to work is that after my man passes the final hoop he has to jump through to become an official Minister, we're going to spend a few weeks in his little cabin in the woods so that he can get the vacation he hasn't had in 5 years. AFTER THAT, we'll be heading to Texas, so that he can start looking for a job anywhere in the country. Such job hunting in the UU tradition requires internet connection and good phone reception, which basically means we can't be in the state of Maine to do it, so he'll be hunting from Texas. During that time I'll try to get any meaningless job I can get my hands on, just to pay as much bills as I can with it while we're there. Then when he lands a job, we'll depart, and I'll quit my crap mini-job. It could take him 3 weeks to find one. It could take him until APRIL to find one... I, Onyx, intend to hang with my homies during this period of time. |

Sounds awesome. Unrelated: the past 2 days, when I post a quick reply and click "Add Reply", it takes me to the full reply screen. Odd. |

Things That Onyx Would Love To Do In Tejas: (obviously not all of these would be possible, and maybe none of them) These are all RPG ideas, which doesn't mean that's the only thing I think about, its just that the other stuff like board games and video games, and hanging at food joints, and sitting and talking, and orgies with assless baboons... I'm just assuming that all of those kinds of things are a given and are automatically included... 1-- I have written and run what I believe to be my best chronicle ever for Vampire. Like right now, its my greatest work of art, and is filled with so much greatness that I'd love to see what y'all would do with it. I created it for the group in Kansas City, and had the time of my life with it, and then this summer when the Maine people begged me to GM, I ran it again (since I didn't have time to write a new one, and it was proven), and had a great time the second time. Both groups did something very different with it, and bot times were very unique. I promise it has none of the suckiness that my one-shots are known for. 2-- I have the stuff for Eberron Campaign setting for D&D. I'm totally in love with it so much that it makes me dislike Faerun. I really think its that much better. I'd love to run or play a game set in it. 3-- O-God is currently doing a D&D game with y'all, and there was that one that Acid was organizing to be a PbP that never started. Maybe we could do one of those and have Onyx join in? 4-- I've also got a Mage chronicle half-written. It wouldn't be as complicated as y'all are afraid of, and I know how to intro it so y'all don't have to worry about "Oh shit we have 700 things to memorize!" Everyone would be from the same Tradition and would be like classmates in the same Academy, so the intro portion of things could actually be done more easily, and I can do it in a way where you know enough to know what to do, but where it doesn't take more than an hour or two for me to say what you need to know. The political scope slowly widens so its not so overwhelming but not boring. I'd love to finish writing this if y'all think you'd be interested in playing it. 5-- Acid had started a game where we were all trying to figure out who Dix's sire was. Do we wanna restart that one? 6-- I'm sure Rat will propose something NWoD... Not sure what. Wanna do that? 7-- I've got the BABYLON 5 role-playing game!! YEAH MU!@#$%AHS!! And since none of y'all have watched the show, I have 5 years of storyline waiting at my fingertips. 8-- Dix wanna do D&D? I know you said no way last time, just thought I'd mention it... 9-- Rat and Acid are always competing for the Shadowrun GM title... Wanna run that? Shadowrun is like my least fave RPG, but I'm always willing to try it out if y'all think it'll be a fun chronicle. 10-- NO RPGS, DIE DIE DIE!! I know that's Statistics favorite option. Last time I saw her in person she said she wanted all the RPG books on the planet to burn, so I figured it needed including, especially since so many of you are usually feeling rather burnt out on the whole enterprise (not just Acid). 11-- Bum-Bum-Bum-Bh-UH! Say it with me! 12-- I have written a Star Fleet Battles campaign Chronicle. It would be rad. You'd be a Squad of Orion Pirates caught in the middle of crazy nifty epic crap going on in the galaxy. It would be half RPG politics, half combat, half mystery, and half WOW. All the scenarios would have totally unique objectives determined by YOU, and what you wanted to accomplish, and the results of your prior decisions, and WHAMO!! I wrote this beast like while I was in Undergrad, and have wanted to run it forever, but never have been able to because... well, lets face it... the idea of playing 15 games of SFB in a year is kinda soul-killing.... But I've always wanted to run it... 13-- Screw the RPG's, lets just hang and throw LAN PARTIES!! 14-- Your idea, that Onyx didn't think of... |

Sorry if the last post was overwhelming. It's what happens when I get excited. [[And Dix, me too... totally same thing happening to me.]] ((Edit: Oops, didn't realize this thread would appear on the portal as a news feed. My bad, mkay")) Edited by Onyx, Sep 2 2009, 01:40 PM.

1. Interested. 2. You go to hell and die. The Realms rule. Kidding about the dying and hell part. Honestly, I know nothing of Eberron. 3. Would be happy with both of those. 4. Scared, but, as always, down for whatever. 5. Who's my daddy? Would be fun, especially now that I've totally forgotten how to play. 6. Might be fun. I'd assume that R@t would at least show up for his own game. [oooooh] 7. An unfamiliar story AND system? Scary. 8. You mean me run one? I've actually given that a lot of thought lately. I'd like to do that after I get the house a little furnished. (Our house will look silly at first, what with 500 sq. ft. of furniture in so much more house.) 9. I'd be willing to play more Shadowrun, but I'd like to contribute more than holding my hands to my head and saying, "I'm driving now". Oh, and tweaking. I did that, too. 10. Grrrrrrrrr. . . 11. Dude, forget about the homeless. . . geez. 12. Dude, that's. . . a lot. I mean, might be awesome, but. . . 13. One or two WOULD be cool. 14. Everyone helps Dix pack? . . . No? Kidding. |

Yeah. I'm for #1 and maybe a one-shot from me... Or the drop Onyx in OG's game. Turns out I still like playing - OG did a good job. Want to do that kind of thing more. |

Ok, so I got to thinking about it, and y'all might hate my Vampire chronicle, because it was designed for people who knew nothing, or very little, about VAmpire. It starts the night of y'all's embrace as shovelheads (you're humans for about an hour, and then BAM), and proceeds in telling like the first two weeks of vampirism, night by night while y'all are caught in the middle of crazy political shit. So y'all might hate it because you'd have to pretend to not know things. And when I run Vampire, information is infinitely harder to come by, such that most neonates don't even know how many clans there are, much less the names or disciplines of them, or that Generations exist, or... You also might hate it because it rips several scenes off of stuff y'all have already seen. There's a scene taken from the Bloodlines videogame, there's a character's journal that is 50% identicle to one that Acid made a few years ago, and several of the NPC's were seen in the character preludes to a game I almost ran with O-God and Rat (back when I was going to run the Week of Nightmares, there was a particular Pack in the Sabbat they met, and those characters are back, but much more developed). So you might hate it because 50% of the time, you'll be like... "Hey, you totally plagiarized that!!," while the other 50% of the time you'll be like, "Wow, that's new and cool!" THEREFORE: If y'all still think it sounds cool after hearing that, then Option #1 still stands, and I'm willing to run that if you think you'd enjoy it. If not, then Option #1 is replaced by the following possibilities: A-- Onyx writes a new Vampire game. B-- Onyx writes a new Eberron chronicle. C-- Onyx runs JERICHO, using the oWoD system just to have a rules sytem, with a little added Onyx flavoring. Acid's already seen the TV show, but would be willing to play dumb on it. If the rest of y'all have seen the TV show, then never mind. If, however, y'all don't know it, then we could run this. It's basically Fallout 3, but just with regular humans running around. Bombs drop, then "OMG, what do we do?" (with added Onyx flavor) C-- Onyx runs the Giovanni Chronicles, or the Transylvania Chronicles, or the Fourth Crusade. (with added Onyx flavor) D-- Onyx runs the Fall of the Camarilla in NWoD. This is Vampire Requiem where you watch the Roman Empire fall apart over a span of 200 years, and try to help hold it together, help destroy it, or just survive, or whatevs. (with added Onyx Flavor) |

Don't run the Giovanni chronicles - I plan on that eventually and finally have ALL the books for that one. |

In that case, I just have to throw this out there... I've been planning those someday for like 4 or 5 years now... So... C1-- Onyx starts running the Giovanni Chronicles, and then when he leaves Acid takes over as the GM of those. C2-- Acid runs starts running Giovanni Chronicles while Onyx is there, and when Onyx leaves either his character dies or runs away or some such, and Acid continues runnign the Giovanni Chronicles. I mean I just gotta put this out there that if Both of us want to run those, and since I happen to know full well that O-God wants to play in them... Then why not go for the gold instead of putting off the joy until later? Like either of us would be fully capable of playing dumb where its necessary, and we'd both be more interested in doing a good job playing a character and having a fun time, so the risk of either of us "ruining" anything is like pretty darn small. Jus' Sayin'... Now, GRANTED, both of us have strong opinions about how they should be run, and would secretly be judgemental about how the other guy did it, but HEY... If we know 3 of us are excited about them...? |

I haven't read them yet. If you REALLY want to do it I won't be mad - but I'm just saying, I'm pretty close to replacing the books I keep in the can now and they were going to be read. But I know for sure I won't be running any games until right around or after Christmas. It's a GM playground out there for you guys. |

Geez, giving out the timeline muted the appeal a little. Knowing nothing would be easy for me, though. As for the rest, man, I don't even know. If you want me in the game, tell me where, when, and what dice to bring, and I'll be there. |

I was just thinking that I've seen him on here several times, so I know he's had the chance. And since he's like the other player or GM here, it would be appropriate for him to chime in before anything gets settled further. Didn't mean like, "Nobody say anything else until he speaks!" I meant more like, "AHEM!!" |

I probably won't have a weekend off till close to November, even then I'm not sure what days I'll have off. I personally am down for anything, I'm going to start work on the game I ran for Acids Bday. So yeah when I know what days I'll have off I'll update you guys. |

I will be mostly without internets for like the next 3 weeks. That's the part that completely blows about being in a cabin in the woods with no connection to civilization. Its like "Yay, no civilization, woohoo!" and "damn, NO CIVILIZATION!" all at once. So... I'll keep polishing my new Vampire, in case y'all want that one, and I'll work on a new Eberron in case y'all want that one. Acid, is the new vampire game you're doing this viral campaign for gonna be in real life table-top while I'm there, or is that a purely like play-by-post internets kind of game? I mean, is that the other option we're considering for what to do, or is it a separate thing from this discussion thread? |

Ok, then y'all can keep debating amongst yourselves what we wanna play, if we wanna play. I'm gonna keep writing RPG's, because for the next three weeks I will have NOTHING ELSE to do. Like I'm gonna be locked up in a cabin with a guy studying for the Minister version of the BAR EXAM. So in order for me to have anything to do at all and not go crazy (Misery style), I'm gonna pretend that we're gonna play 8 different games all GM'd by me. I know, I know, being in the woods is great and spiritual and fun and nifty... But when you're TRAPPED there, its easier to get bored, you know? Like i'm really scared I'm gonna be bored out of my skull, so I'm gonna write more chronicles. There's a library about 20 miles from where we'll be that should have internet access, so every few days I might be able to log in here, but basically this is gonna be my last chance to look here for several weeks. It's howdy doody time, kiddies... |
