PlayStation Store Update: Flower edition By Andrew Webster | ArsTechnica ![]() This week the PlayStation Network kicks of its Spring Fever campaign, which will see a number of new downloadable games hit the service over the coming weeks. Starting things off on a high note, the long anticipated Flower is now available for download for $9.99. If you want to know more about the relaxing title, check out our review. Actually, Flower is the only full game being released this week. In terms of add-on content, Disgaea 3 will be getting a trio of new custom characters that will run you $1.99 each, However, you can also buy them bundled for $5.49, which gives you the added bonus of a free Disgaea 3 theme. Lumines Supernova is also getting a fairly expensive update, as a pack of classic skins—based on the original version of the game—is available for $4.99. There's also plenty of new video content, with the latest installments of both Qore ($2.99) and Pulse (Free). The for-pay service gives us inside looks into Resident Evil 5 and MLB 09 The Show. While Pulse, as per usual, gives users a rundown of what's new and exciting on the PSN. As far as new rhythm games tracks, Rock Band will see a trio of songs from The Fratellis. These include “Creepin’ Up the Backstairs,” “Flathead” and “Henrietta,” which are $1.99 each or $5.49 when purchased together. Meanwhile Guitar Hero: World Tour is going acoustic, with a new batch of songs including "Wonderwall” by Ryan Adams, “New Slang” by The Shins , and “Drive” by Incubus. Again, the songs are $1.99 each or $5.49 when bundled together. Only one demo is hitting the service this week, and it's for a game we've already seen. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is getting a new demo, this one showing off a different track: Razorback. Like the original demo, this can be played either single-player, or split-screen multiplayer. There is also a host of new trailers, themes, and wallpapers available this week—including a few really nice Flower backgrounds. Head over to the PlayStation Blog for the complete rundown. While it's not the most packed week in terms of new content, it at least makes up for it in quality. Flower may be the only game this week, but it's also one that PS3 owners shouldn't miss. |
